Leavers put on their best dresses and smartest suits for their end of year prom.

Year 11 students at Epping St John’s Church of England School spent their final day at a leavers' assembly before heading to Blake's for the long awaited prom.

During the assembly, the year group was reminded of the many experiences they had shared in the last five years, with photos and videos from across their time at the school.

Awards were handed out for those most likely to, followed by performances from the year group’s bands, singers and GCSE dance students.

The prom itself started with a dinner before students broke out into a disco.

The evening's sartorial successes were later recognised with a best dressed student award.

Sarah Montgomery, Year 11 director of learning, said: “Prom was a really nice evening, which ended with every single person on the dance floor singing together.

"It was brilliant. A really nice celebration to mark the end of their five years at Epping St John’s.”

Kate Henshall donated the £250 she won from the Jack Petchey Foundation for her general hard work at school to the prom, to buy sweet cones and balloons to decorate the tables.
