The Chingford Congregational Church was established in Buxton Road in 1888.
A Sunday School was run at this time in Spicer Hall and a permanent brick church was built on adjacent land in 1910 replacing an earlier iron structure.
The church changed its name in 1972 to United Reformed Church.
