Leyton Orient host Sheffield United in the Capital One Cup third round but most of the focus will be on O's boss Russell Slade and his potential move to Cardiff City.

Slade is the favourite for the Cardiff job but Orient have turned down three approaches for the manager to talk to the Championship club. One of these came from the O's boss after he asked to speak to Cardiff on Friday.

This comes just one week after Slade was given an ultimatum to get a result at Notts County. Following post match talks with owner Francesco Becchetti he held on to his job but his future at the club remains uncertain.

Orient will try to put their off-field issues to one side for tonight's cup tie against their League 1 opponents. It is a chance for the East Londoners to reach the fourth round of the competition for the first time since the 1962-63 season.

The O's reached the third round after a shock 1-0 win at Aston Villa while Sheffield United also had a Premier League scalp in the previous round as they dumped out West Ham United on penalties.

Slade made a host of changes for the trip to Villa Park and it would be no surprise if he shuffled his pack again tonight.
