Leyton Orient interim boss Kevin Nugent insists his side are focused on getting off the mark at home this weekend when they host in-form MK Dons.
The O's slipped into the League 1 relegation zone after drawing at Sheffield United last Saturday and the O’s face another challenge this Saturday when they host fourth-placed MK Dons.
Orient are still looking for their first home win this season and Nugent is optimistic they can end this barren run.
He said: “We have to stay positive the whole time and we are just going to work as hard as we can to turn around our home form and it would be great if it was this weekend.
“MK Dons are a good all-round side. They had a little dip last season but have started this one really well so we’re expecting a tough game because they’ve got a lot of good footballers.”
The O’s will have to manage without a host of players, with Jobi McAnuff suspended and Dean Cox still ruled out with a knee injury.
Nugent said: “We are not picking from a vast squad but, as the 11 players and the substitutes showed last weekend, we are still more than capable of getting results.”
Orient’s fans have been increasingly frustrated this season with the side’s underachievement on the pitch and the uncertainty off it but Nugent has nothing but praise for their support.
He said: “They have been behind us all season and have really supported the team. I think they have done all they can and we really appreciate that they have stayed behind us.”
