Crostyx picked up their second win of the season by beating Brentwood 4-2, rising from 11th to ninth in the table.

Player-coach Tim Watson converted a penalty flick to hand Crostyx the lead, before captain Phil Walker doubled their advantage with a reverse hand shot which took a deflection.

Just two minutes later, Walker was on target again to put Styx 3-0 up with another reverse hand shot. A fourth was not far off, Watson converting his second penalty flick of the day.

With ten second-half minutes remaining, Styx were made to pay for switching off as Brentwood scored twice, but they were merely consolations.

Crostyx ladies were beaten 4-3 in the dying minutes by Waltham Forest, come back from being 3-1 down.

Trailing 3-1 at the break following three well-worked goals, Styx had got one back via an Alys Hackett drag flick.

After the break Styx rallied and scored twice to get back on level terms.

However, as Crostyx pushed for a winner, Forest took advantage and scored on the counter to seal victory at the death.
