Carl Jenkinson produced a fine display at right-back for the England Under-21s last night as the Three Lions impressively beat Germany 3-2.
Jenkinson, on-loan at West Ham, struggled to break into Arsenal’s team last season. However, his consistent performances this season have shown the importance of playing regular first team football.
Jenkinson was chosen ahead of Arsenal player Calum Chambers to deputise at right back and his display certainly gave Arsene Wenger food for thought.
The 23-year old set up two of the three goals. Jesse Lingard, Nathan Redmond and James Ward-Prowse were the scorers.
