Fourth XI Premier Division

Chingford Fourths are all but down after a ten-wicket defeat at home to Harold Wood Fourths left them teetering on the brink.

Only an unlikely sequence of results will keep the bottom side up now after they were removed for a paltry 94 on Saturday.

Michael Blake (33) top scored but the rest of the order slumped to a miserable total after 49.2 overs.

Unsurprisingly Harold Wood made light work of chasing down that total and made it to 97 without loss after 18.1 overs to swat aside their beleaguered hosts.

Buckhurst Hill Fourths clung on to draw at Chelmsford Fourths with 59 from Isuru Gama the highlight.

The visitors batted first and declared on 272 for four; Jack Campion making a 103 not out.

Hosts Hill were in trouble once Gama was snared and after a middle-order collapse which yielded just 23 runs, the fifth-placed side were left to bat out the remaining overs with just one wicket left, closing on 177.

Fourth XI Division One

With the pressure off, already-relegated Fives and Heronians Fourths pulled off a shock first win of the season at high-flying Orsett Fourths.

Orsett posted 243 for five before declaring, a total which ordinarily would have been well beyond the capabilities of Fives.

But perhaps knowing they will play in Division Two next season took some of the pressure off the away side, who put in their best performance of the season to reply with 244 for six.

Oakfield Parkonians Fourths are closing in on promotion after a draw at Wickford Fourths.

Parks batted first and through Ronan Karuna (68) and Gurmit Bhatia (58 not out) built a strong position to declare on 253 for three. But Wickford held out with 224 for seven.
