Linkside Tennis Club held their annual open tournament finals on Saturday following their success at staging the junior finals a fortnight ago.
The Wanstead club, in Overton Drive, saw their five-year tradition of youngsters claiming the Ladies Open singles title as Ivakla Mitkova beat Rae Potter in two sets without dropping a game.
In the Men’s Singles, reigning champion Darren Lee defended his title against newcomer Sam Roberts 7-5, 6-4 in a tightly-contested match.
The Men’s Doubles saw Roberts and his partner Mark Stanford triumph over Andy Antoniou and Marcus Brissenden 7-6, 6-3.
Stanford has now won the men’s doubles title three times each time with a different partner.
Due to an injury in the Ladies Doubles, Potter and Mary Seabrook were handed a walkover win against Miriam Scharf and Ophelia Soares.
Brissenden also competed in the Mixed Doubles with Misa Corlett against Lee and Angela Shea, who produced a comfortable display to win 6-1, 6-3.
Linkside offers junior and adult coaching and welcomes new competitive and social players throughout the year.
