Danny Webb was pleased with the way his side attacked during their game on Tuesday night despite losing 1-0 to Morecambe.

The O's still remain in the relegation zone and are yet to pick up any points in 2017.

With home fixtures against Notts County and Cheltenham still to come gaining something from Yeovil Town and Plymouth Argyle may prove vital.

Webb said: “It was very pleasing for me to see that attack in the first half and the second half as well. I think the boys got tired, the younger lads got tired which is not just a physical thing but a mental thing as well.

“Sometimes you do get a little bit drained as you go for it so much in the first half you hit a little bit of a brick wall in the second.

“I still felt we might nick one. That is why I sort of tried to leave it as late as I could to make any changes.

“When I did it I thought it was just a case of hopefully Josh (Koroma) getting something in and around the box and Kels to get a bit of a feel of the starting line-up again.”

The 33-year-old also discussed when forward Paul McCallum was likely to return.

McCallum is Orient's only senior forward at the club following the departures of Ollie Palmer, Jordan Bowery and Jay Simpson in the January transfer window.

“We are looking to take Paul down to Yeovil, whether he is fit or not, to be in the squad we do not know," said the former AFC Wimbledon forward.

“But he is a massive player. I think he is one of the best forwards in the league and I mean that. I have always thought that.

“And he cares. He is another one the fans like because he cares. He gives 110%, he is a bit lairy and people want to see that.

“He has been a massive loss, a very big loss as has Liam Kelly, Robbie Weir. It is hard. It is hard to sort of guarantee who we have to go out and get results every week.

“But I will be brutally honest I cannot ask for much more when they go out there and perform like that.”

And when asked about how he can take positives from Orient's new attitude towards attacking ahead of the next two games he said: “I have said a few times, and it is not music to everyone’s ears, I have gone in with a structure and plan in my head for the future.

“And at the moment it is bright. If we were sitting 12th in the league no chance of going up and no chance of going down everyone could be a lot more relaxed about the situation.

“And I could really plan for next season in League Two with good youngsters, with good additions coming in, in the summer and we could really put a good group together to challenge for promotion.

“It is not to be. We are down the wrong end. Sooner or later we have got to get results. Saying that if they keep showing me the things like they did tonight on and off the ball, I think we will be alright.”

The game kicks off at 3pm tomorrow at Huish Park.
