Leyton Orient captain Robbie Weir has made his exit from Brisbane Road.

It is understood he has left the club after spending one season with the O's.

The midfielder joined E10 from Burton Albion last summer but struggled to make his mark at the Matchroom Stadium.

He was sent off after two minutes in Andy Edwards first game in charge as interm boss in their 2-0 loss against Plymouth Argyle in October.

The 28-year-old was then ruled out for the rest of the League Two season following a serious knee injury in January.

Weir was stretchered off in the 4-0 loss to Exeter City and scans revealed he had suffered anterior cruciate ligament damage.

At that point he made 21 appearances in the red shirt and he was not available for when the O's were relegated for the first time in 112 years into the National League.

It leaves Orient with a smaller squad than first predicited with no incoming signings as of yet revealed.

Pre-season is set to start in two-weeks and manager Omer Riza's contract expires on June 30.Season tickets are also not on sale for the O's faithtful.

Future plans of owner Francesco Becchetti are still unknown despite paying off the peition creditors at High Court last Monday.

It is believed, however, there are still outstanding creditors to be paid.
