Tottenham Hotspur could make a move for Manchester United defender Chris Smalling according to national reports.

The England international will be allowed to leave the Red Devils this summer, reports claim, following the arrival of Benfica defender Victor Lindelof last week.

Mauricio Pochettino apparently wants to add some strength in depth at centre-half and after missing out on Harry Maguire, the Spurs boss could now make a move for Smalling.

West Ham United and Everton have also been linked with the 27-year-old, who made 36 appearances in all competitions for Manchester United last season, scoring twice.

Smalling moved to Old Trafford from Fulham in 2010.
