Leyton-born sprinter Asha Philip experienced a mixed weekend at the athletics World Championships.
Despite failing to reach the final of the 100m, Philip could still look back on a tournament which saw her gain personal success and put to rest some ghosts of the past.
Philip missed out on London 2012 through injury, but produced a best ever time of11.14 in the former Olympic Stadium to advance through the heats.
Her semi-final showing lacked the same quality and saw Philip miss out on the chance to compete for a medal.
Philip., who won bronze in the 4x100m at Rio 2016, clocked a time of 11.19 as she finished seventh in a field of eight.
The event was eventually won by America’s Tori Bowie.
