David Moyes’ arrival could provide West Ham United with a boost ahead of their clash with Watford tomorrow, says Marco Silva.

The former Manchester United manager took the reins at London Stadium after Slaven Bilic’s dismissal and the visit to Vicarage Road is his first game in charge.

Silva insists his side are prepared for the test of United, but admits Moyes could help change the Hammers fortunes.

“It is a different situation. If we played against a team with a coach they have the last months we have an idea of what they normally do,” Silva explained.

“We know very well the players and the team, but it is a first match with a new coach. We know David Moyes and what he did at his other clubs.

“He can change everything. It is the first game and he can change. We respect the team and they have a lot of individual quality in their players. We know what we need to do to win the game.”

Watford’s slump in form, which has seen them lose three games on the spin, means tomorrow’s game takes on greater significance.

Silva says his side have learned from the run of results and insists there is no need to panic as the players are responding well.

“I think the last three matches were really good matches for us to learn as soon as possible what we can do better,” he said.

“We need to look at what we do until now and I am sure the players know we are in the right way and we need to avoid certain things in our game.”
