Coffee, cake and cocktails. This can only mean one thing: The London Coffee Festival is back. And this year, as well as offering the chance to experience the best coffee in the capital, they are focusing on sustainability.

With the aim of becoming a zero waste event by 2024, visitors can now enjoy as many cups of coffee as they like with the satisfaction of knowing they are helping the environment. Exhibitors will be using compostable packaging and visitors are encouraged to bring their own reusable cups.

Jeffrey Young, Founder of The London Coffee Festival, said: “We have a fantastic packed programme for this, our tenth year, and our birthday wish is for festival-goers to join us ready to party, armed with their own reusable cups in an effort to help save our planet whilst enjoying everything the festival has to offer.”

The festival has grown into Europe’s largest speciality coffee event, attracting enthusiasts from London and beyond to the event at Brick Lane’s Truman Brewery between Thursday, April 2, and Sunday, April 5.

Epping Forest Guardian:

Over 250 exhibitors and 35,000 people will come together to celebrate the coffee industry while supporting Project Waterfall, a campaign to help deliver clean water projects in coffee-producing countries around the world. 20% of ticket sales will be donated to this cause.

The festival will feature a range of artisan coffees, tastings and demonstrations, workshops, cocktails, street food, live music, DJs, art exhibitions, beauty and wellness, panel talks and cake.

New for 2020, visitors can nominate their favourite local coffee shop in the London’s Best Coffee Shop Awards. Not only will your favourite coffee spot have a chance to win this prestigious award, but voters can also win a year’s free coffee at their nominated shop.

At the festival’s lab there will be interactive demonstrations, workshops, talks with industry pioneers and sneak peeks at the latest innovations. Learn the secrets of how to make the perfect coffee cocktail and hear experts talk about the exciting world of the coffee industry.

Coffee Masters™, a four day competition, is returning for the festival’s tenth year. Watch the world’s top baristas go head to head in a test of creativity and skill to compete for the coveted title of Coffee Master and win £5,000.

To help the festival celebrate its tenth birthday, Saturday, April 4, will see a surprise celebrity guest baker creating an impressive ‘ten-tier for ten years’ coffee cake masterpiece.

No festival is complete without music, and the London Coffee Festival will feature a line-up of the capital’s most exciting musicians and DJs.

For those looking to cool the caffeine buzz, the multi-sensory Mindful Coffee Tasting experience combines coffee with meditation. The experience is just one of the beauty and wellness features on offer.

Whether you are a coffee pro who loves a flat white or an average Joe who is content with a home brew, there will be something for everyone at the festival. So there’s no need to panic if you don’t know the difference between a latte and a cappuccino.

Open to the public on Saturday, April 4, and Sunday, April 5, the coffee festival offers tickets for brunch, lunch, teatime and VIP full day sessions. To buy tickets or find out more information on what’s on, visit www.londoncoffeefestival.com
