TINY living has paid off in big ways for Rhuddlan’s The Goat Roper Rodeo Band.

The trio – brothers lead guitarist Jim and bassist Tom Davies alongside childhood friend Sam Roberts on rhythm guitarist - have been able to continue jamming throughout lockdown thanks to their decision to take up together in a caravan.

Epping Forest Guardian:

In addition to filming a music video for single Main Street - off their 2019 album Tall Grass - the band have welcomed fans to their garden regularly through Facebook to join them on an experimental cosmic country journey.

Jim said: “Well I’d say we’ve been one of the lucky ones through this lockdown, living together in a caravan feels like a master stroke right now.

“We’ve been busy exploring avenues we’ve not really delved into much before, since we have no gigs for the foreseeable future our energy has turned towards the art itself - working on songwriting and developing ideas musically in general.

“I myself have dusted off the old keyboard and have been practicing hard trying to get more fluid on the piano, even written a song or two on the keyboard, which is nice because I find it’s a different feel than writing on the guitar. ”

The band had a busy summer lined up, however, they’ve been able to record 10 new tracks during lockdown to take on the road with them after the pandemic.

Jim added: “

It’s never gonna be the same as good old fashioned gig, but I still feel good to at least be entertaining folks from their living rooms.”

The next live stream takes place on ‘The Goat Roper Band’ Facebook page on Thursday, July 9 at 7pm.
