Police are appealing for information after a series of racially motivated attacks on Asian women in the same road.
Following rumours on social media surrounding the incidents, MP Stella Creasy announced she will attend a mosque meeting to listen to concerns.
Walthamstow Police confirmed they are investigating two racially aggravated incidents which have taken place in the last week in the Boundary Road area of Hoe Street.
The first incident occurred last Friday when an Asian woman was pushed to the ground by a white male. She sustained minor injuries.
On Wednesday police attended the same road after three white males racially abused an Asian woman.
Police have maintained there are no links between the two incidents occurring on the road just days apart.
No arrests have been made but police enquiries continue.
Ms Creasy, MP for Walthamstow, said: “I will be attending Queens Road mosque today in person to speak with residents and feedback concerns to police following recent events and social media messages.”
A police spokeswoman said they would continue a police presence in the area.
She said: “Incidents of this nature are treated seriously by police.
"On-going work is taking place to dispel a large number of false rumours currently circulating social media regarding these events.”
“Police will continue to work with partners, faith groups and senior stakeholders in order to provide reassurance to residents within the Boundary Road area."
Waltham Forest police asks anyone with information to contact them on 0208 721 2649 or 101.
