Three children were among the five people taken to hospital after two cars crashed on a busy road.
At around 4pm on Wednesday, a white Mini and a black Land Rover crashed into each other in High Street, Eppng, injuring all of those involved.
Two adults and three children were treated at the scene for minor injuries, and all of the patients were taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow for further care.
Two ambulances, police, and a fire crew attended the scene, and a section of the High Street and the adjoining Hemnall Street were closed off until around 5pm, causing heavy traffic through the town.
