Major resurfacing work on the M25 is due to end tonight.
Two lanes in both directions between junction 23 for South Mimms and junction 27 for Theydon Bois have been closed overnight since November.
A spokesman for the Highways Agency said: "The surface was replaced with a different, quieter running surface to greatly improve ride quality."
The work cost approximately £9million.
