An appeal has been made to find people who want to get fit while raising money for charity.
The Trisport Epping triathlon club is appealing for applicants for the Try a Tri event, which is being held to introduce people to the sport while raising money for Woodford Green-based Haven House hospice, which cares for children with serious illnesses.
The event is being held on June 28 at Ongar Leisure Centre in Fyfield Road, and is open to beginners and novices who want to try their hand at the daunting athletic event.
Participants in the event will swim 300m, cycle 21km and run 4km.
Alison Trauttmansdorff-Weinsberg of Trisport Epping said: “It is very tough for some people who want to dip their toes without feeling intimidated.
“This is the ideal event for that, the distances are very manageable.
“It is an all age sport, families can take part and it just goes to a good cause.”
