A cyclist is in a critical condition after a collision with a car.
The 51-year-old man from Loughton is being treated for a head injury at the Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel following the crash at the junction of Colebrook Lane and Castell Road in Loughton at 9pm on Saturday (May 30).
His condition was described as “critical but stable” yesterday.
Police have appealed for witnesses after the driver of the car involved, a silver Vauxhall Astra, was arrested.
The 28-year-old from Waltham Abbey has been bailed until July 21, pending further enquiries.
The road was closed for about five hours while police carried out initial forensic investigations.
