Cultivate Festival

A spectacular September harvest is heading to Waltham Forest this autumn. The Cultivate Produce Show. The main event on September 4, invites growers of all levels and ages to enter their food growing successes and prized recipes. The day also includes cookery demonstrations, workshops and performances throughout the afternoon.

Skinny Legs

Watch a rehearsed reading of a new play by Romford writer Dan Murphy, following the story of Michael, who likes dance routines, watching Top Model, and wearing skirts to school. However, he struggles with acceptance from his family and has to work out who he wants to be.

London's Burning

St Paul's Cathedral, Tate Modern and the National Theatre are part of the line-up

of landmark locations and events across the capital for London's Burning. Artichoke's contemporary art and ideas festival is marking the 350th anniversary of The Great Fire of London this weekend. The festival will explore London's history through fiery projections on the cathedral and the riverside area in front of Tate Modern will be transformed into an after-dark adventure.

Mandela Trilogy

The life of Nelson Mandela is being brought to the stage in an operatic tribute. Wales Millennium Centre and Cape Town Opera present the story of one of the world's most iconic figures, which will follow Mandela from his tribal initiation rites on the banks of the Mbashe River and rebellious jazz-fuelled days in Sophiatown, to incarceration on Robben Island and finally freedom and liberation.

Dinner At The Twits

As part of the Centenary Celebrations of Roald Dahl's birth this year, why not have dinner at The Twits? The evening will include a banquet of deliciously disgusting dishes, to be enjoyed with homemade cocktails, Mr Twit's special brew and Mrs Twit's potent punch. Fish the glass eye from your cocktail glass and take a slice of bird pie.
