The Millfield Theatre is celebrating Black History Month with three living legends who changed the sound of reggae in the UK.

Lover's Rock Monologues will be performed by musicians Janet Kay, Carroll Thompson and Victor Romero Evans, where they will combine music and theatrical storytelling, on Monday, October 31.

The London-born trio are paying tribute to the style of reggae noted for its romantic sound and content, which defined a generation in the late 1970s and '80s.

The sub-genre of reggae blew up all over the world and gave women a voice in the traditionally male dominated genre of music.

The show has seen success for three years and is now set to bring the sound to Edmonton for the first time.
