An elderly man was conned out of a three-figure sum by a rogue trader who promised he would repair his roof.
CCTV footage of the man police would like to speak to in connection with the incident, which happened in Grosvenor Drive, Loughton, has been released.
The man approached the victim, claiming to be a builder and saying repair work needed to be done to the roof of his house.
He never returned after the elderly man handed over a large sum of money.
The incident happened at 11.30am on July 7.
Police previously appealed for information to find a second man in connection with an incident at the same address on August 1.
He has since been identified and no offences were committed.
If you know this man, call police on 101.
