Two 14-year-olds have been arrested after a pursuit involving a car that had been stolen during a burglary.

Police were called to an address in School Green Lane in North Weald at around 3.35am on Sunday morning after the victim, a man in his 50s, reported his Vauxhall Mokka has been stolen.

The car was sighted in convoy with other vehicles travelling through Epping and into Loughton, where officers began a pursuit.

They followed the car to Firs Drive, Loughton, where another vehicle blocked the way and allowed people inside the Vauxhall to decamp.

Two 14 year-old boys from Ilford were arrested a short time later on suspicion of burglary and theft and were taken into police custody.

The Vauxhall Mokka, registration BP14 UTO, made off from the scene and police are still attempting to trace it.
