THOSE wanting to have their say in the upcoming local elections on May 3have less than a week to register to vote.

The deadline for applications to register to vote in person is April 17.

A day later at 5pm is the cut-off for new postal voting application and changes to existing postal or proxy vote arrangements.

A week after that and all new proxy voting arrangements must be in at 5pm on April 25.

Those with disabilities can contact their local Electoral Registration Office to find out about low voter level and easy to access polling stations.

Go to www.gov.uk/register-to-vote to sign up.
