The public has the chance to find out more about plans to erect noise barriers to mitigate the effect of a road widening scheme.

In 2016 proposals create a further junction 7a connecting the M11 to Harlow, via a widened Gilden Way, were put out to public consultation.

Many expressed concerns about noise pollution from the busy road, leading Essex County Council to suggest the erection of noise barriers at sections of Gilden Way and Sheering Road.

The barriers are typically wooden fences, although other materials can be used such as brick and clear plastic.

The scheme will also see the removal of The Oxleys underpass, which is prone to flooding, is a hot spot for anti-social behaviour and does not conform to accessibility standards.

On May 11 between 2pm and 8pm the exhibition will be held at Mulberry Green Church Hall in Old Harlow, and again between 10am and 4pm the following day.
