A petrol station has requested permission to sell alcohol 24 hours a day.
The BP petrol station at the end of The Broadway in Debden has made the application to Epping Forest District Council.
If approved, it would become the only shop in Debden to serve as a 24/7 off-licence.
In 2015 the granting of an all night licence to the Shop'N Drive Esso Petrol Station in Church Hill, Loughton gave residents cause for concern.
At a council meeting at the time David Linnell, of the Loughton Residents Association, said: “Late night outlets tend to act as focus points for youngsters.
“There is a long and well-recorded history of violence, anti-social behaviour and ‘minor’ criminal damage associated with the existing late night venues in Loughton High Road, with problems arising outside these venues when they close in the early hours of the morning.”
Others at the meeting argued buying alcohol late as night was useful for people working on shifts outside typical hours.
A consultation into the proposals runs until July 12.
