Passengers in a taxi pulled a knife on the driver and punched him before stealing his car.
At around 1.15am on July 8, the taxi driver picked up two men in Broomfield Avenue, Loughton.
When they reached the junction of Luxborough Lane and High Road, one of the passengers threatened the victim with a knife.
The other man then punched him in the head before they both escaped in his black Toyota Prius.
The first man is described as black, of medium built and in his early 20s.
The second man is also described as black, but slim and in his mid-late teens.
If you saw or heard anything, have CCTV, were driving in the area and have dash cam footage, or have any other information call police on 101 quoting the crime reference number 42/96439/18.
