Fast food workers swapped the deep-fat fryer for a McLitter Picker in a bid to spruce up a nearby river bank.

Crew from the McDonald’s restaurant in Waltham Abbey teamed up with The Canal River Trust and Keep Britain Tidy to pick up rubbish along a stretch of the River Lee.

The 13-strong group of McDonald’s staff took time away from the restaurant to give the area along the River Lee a refresh.

Att the end of two hours of picking, 15 large binbags had been collected.
