A bold image of a homeless person sleeping in a shop doorway was the winner of this year's Loughton Camera Club’s Annual Exhibition.
Titled 'Closer Than You Think', the Paul Mee photo shows an occupied, bright blue sleeping bag laid out beneath two men sitting in a cafe.
Colin Southgate, fellow of the Royal Photographic Society, chose Mr Mee's photo as his winner, praising his work's artistic nature and "powerful social comment".
Other winners included Reg Worsfold with his exhibit in the nature section, Alan Martin with his portrait entry and Ron Tear with scenes from Namibia.
An exhibition featuring all the winners and more will show at Loughton Library from October 27 to November 24, entry free.
Loughton Camera Club meets every Wednesday at Lopping Hall Loughton at 8pm.
