Police investigating the sexual assault of a sleeping woman on a bus have released CCTV images of a man they wish to speak with.
The victim was on the N8 bus between Stratford and Gants Hill in the early hours of Saturday, October 6, when she was preyed upon.
After dozing off, the woman who is in her 30s was sexually assaulted by a man who later got off the bus.
The offence was committed between 5am and 6am.
Detective Constable Harry Esealuka, of the East Area Command Unit, said: “This was an awful attack on a female who had every right to expect to travel safely on public transport. She has been devastated by the incident.
“I urge anyone who recognises the male in this image to contact us immediately.
“We would particularly like to hear from passengers who were on the same bus and confronted the attacker before he left the scene.”
