A taxi driver with an elapsed licence has been fined.
On March 25 Environment and Neighbourhood officers from the district council were carrying out late night spots checks on the Buckhurst Hill Station taxi rank.
At the front of the line was Ashuque Ahmed, who had failed to renew his licence when it expired on February 27, 2018.
The Dalkeith Road, Ilford resident was fined £346 with costs of £300 and a victim surcharge of £34 after he pleaded guilty at a hearing in Chelmsford
Magistrates Court on October 11 2018, to plying for hire in an unlicensed taxi.
The Hackney Carriage driver’s licence held by Mr Ahmed was also suspended and he surrendered it back to the council without appealing the decision.
