A green fingered youngster dazzled an Epping street on Friday.

Epping in Bloom member Holly Lucken switched on 2,000 festive lights at the Market Garden Terrace off Epping High Street.

The strings of bulbs wound round trees, illuminating the face of carol singers as they serenaded the assembled masses.

Victoria Robertson, Epping in Bloom chairman, said: "Many local residents came along with their families and M&S sponsored the evening with plenty of mince pies for everyone.

"Mulled wine was served and lots of decorated jam jar tea-lights lined the paths.

"Carols were sung, accompanied by live guitar music played by Epping in Bloom members Cherry and Gema.

"It was Epping in Bloom's third year of switching on festive lights in the Market Garden Terrace."

Epping in Bloom is a group of volunteers that works to make the town look attractive.
