The council is looking for a new chief.
Following the resignation of Glen Chipp earlier this year, Derek MacNab took over as chief executive of Epping Forest District Council on a temporary basis.
Now the council is searching for someone to fill the position full time.
A job advert for the role requests someone with ambition and "a real passion for the local area".
It reads: "We’re looking for a new chief executive who wants to be a part of our long-term vision.
"Most importantly though, you’ll be ready to make the most of opportunities that present themselves - empowering others to think differently and adopt new approaches to deliver better outcomes.
"We are exploring ways to generate our own revenue and capitalise on new financial opportunities.
"By doing so, we are empowering ourselves as an organisation and fuelling future innovation – we can continue to reinvest in our communities.
"Our new Chief Executive will be at the heart of it all."
The job pays up to £120,000 a year.
The application deadline is January 4.
