Columnist and Labour Councillor Paul Donovan paints a rosy picture of Walthamstow’s Mini Holland road closure scheme but based upon just one visit.
As someone who has lived within the bounds of the scheme I can assure him it causes many problems. Far from reducing emissions, these increase because of the enforced far longer journeys necessary to get from A to B.
Given the high incidence of violent crime in this and other London areas it is far safer to drive than walk the streets. If London Mayor Khan concentrated on reducing crime rather than wasting money promoting our soon to exit EU with fireworks we might all feel safer.
