An opticians is collecting once loved books to sell and raise money for charity in honour of World Book Day.
Scrivens Opticians & Hearing Care in Manford Way, Chigwell, have been gathering book donations to sell in aid of Alzheimer’s Society on Monday March 4.
The company also plan to sell cakes and hold a colouring competition, which will run until April 26, with £1 entry fee going towards the fundraising.
Chigwell branch manager, Nichola Ford, said: “Alzheimer’s affects a growing number of people in our community and there is a real need for continued research and support. Our book sale is a chance for us to raise funds and awareness for a cause we care about.”
The company has been supporting the charity for five years, raising almost £85,000 across 181 stores in England and Wales.
World Book Day falls on Thursday March 7, for more information, visit www.scrivens.com
