Stunning photos capturing Jessel Green have been shared by an amateur photographer highlighting the ongoing campaign to preserve the area against construction.

Daniel McKnight, from Debden, has been doing photography as a hobby for several years.

Last month he decided to capture the green space in all its glory.

Shots of bright sunsets and cool crisp mornings stretching across the Debden estate were all taken on Mr McKnight’s iPhone.

“I had a few ideas and wanted to try and portray natural the beauty at Jessel Green,” said Mr McKnight.

“It’s quite difficult to find something to portray so I was quite happy with the results and I thought why not share them when there has been a campaign to save the land.”

Images of Epping Forest have also been shared on the keen photographers Flickr page, which he updates in between helping his wife run an insurance consultancy company.

Mr McKnight has backed the Save Jessel Green campaign, which has over 2,500 likes on Facebook and a 5,500 signature petition.

“It is beneficial to the residents and it would be a shame to lose it,” he added.

Epping Forest District Council voted to destroy the field and replace it with 154 homes at the end of 2017, to help meet targets set out by central government.

Residents have passionately protested against parts of the Local Plan which aims to build 11,400 new homes across the district.
