Students at a Primary School have been skipping for charity as part of their annual focus of keeping active.
Hereward Primary School in Colebrook Lane, Loughton, conducted its yearly ‘Health Week’ by completing the ‘Big Skip’ for The British Heart Foundation.
Children from Reception to Year 6 attended workshops learning several classic skipping tricks including ‘Double Dutch’, ‘The Pretzel’ and ‘Keep the Kettle Boiling’.
Physical Education co-ordinator, Liz Ladlow, said: “It is great to see so many children now skipping in the playground during break-times.
"Their five minutes of skipping is worth half-an -hour’s jogging or a 90-minute game of football. It will certainly help their fitness.”
