A 20-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion after making bomb hoax threats onboard a coach this morning.
Police closed off the M11 southbound between Junctions 7 and 8 to investigate the coach travelling between Stansted and London at around 2.30am.
Passengers raised their concerns to the driver, who stopped the coach and called police.
A statement released by Essex Police said: “We are not treating this as a terror related incident.”
The incident caused 19-mile traffic disruptions as commuters were diverted during the early hours of this morning.
The suspect remains in police custody and the motorway reopened around 6.40am.
