An image by a Watford Grammar School for Girls pupil has won a prize in a photographic competition.
The annual competition, held at a ceremony called the Espacio Gallery in London on March 26 aims to get 14 to 18-year-olds to explore creatively the relevance of social science to society.
The school girl's piece ‘Education as a Driving Force’ by Yazmin Pang from Watford Grammar School was awarded a runner-up prize of £50 in vouchers.
Yazmin said: “Bettering education for young people should be vital in attempts to raise living standards and broaden the opportunities in later life.
“In turn, this would also have positive ripple effects and a wider societal benefit.
“The striking pose of the young woman, conjures a strong and powerful message: the youth should be able to stridently look forward in life with education as a driving force.”
