Runners young and old are being invited to take part in a charity fund run next summer where they don’t mind getting a little muddy.

Muddy Mayhem is a 5k long course where participants must tackle 40 obstacles coated in the brown sludge to raise money for St Clare Hospice in Hastingwood.

The charity for terminally-ill patients has partnered with Nuclear Races in Brentwood who will who host the event for residents across west Essex and east Herts.

“Mud runs have really gained popularity in the last several years,” explains challenges and events fundraiser at St Clare, Emma Broadbent. “it’s no wonder why – because they really are so fun and exciting.

“There’s no better feeling that gathering up your friends and taking part in a wacky event like Muddy Mayhem – and when you know it’s all to raise funds for charity, which makes it even more special.”

Muddy Mayhem will take place on Sunday, July 7, Kelvedon Hatch, Brentwood at 11am.

Participants must be at least 13 years to take part. To sign up, visit: https://stclarehospice.org.uk/event/muddy-mayhem/ Alternatively, get in touch with Emma Broadbent on 01279 773754 or email emma.broadbent@stclarehospice.org.uk
