Police have confirmed that a man died on the train tracks last night.
Emergency services were called to Theydon Bois station at 9.10pm on Thursday, April 11 after reports of a casualty on the tracks.
The 27-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident meant there was no service on the Central Line service between Woodford and Epping.
Commenters who were travelling on the train line reported on social media that they were stuck for 90 minutes whilst emergency services attended.
A statement from British Transport Police was released, saying: “Officers were called to the lines close to Theydon Bois station at 9.10pm last night following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
“Paramedics also attended and sadly a 27-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
