A secondary school is to receive new Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) activities thank to funding from a accountants firm.
Haslers Chartered Accountants on Old Station Road, Loughton, will aid Roding Valley High School in Loughton over the next year with the latest STEM programme.
The activities which are designed to encourage students to pursue careers in these academic fields is being supported by The Learning Partnership and social learning platform, Dendrite.
The Learning Partnership is also same the organisation behind ‘Race To The Line’ a national model rocket car competition and ‘Fly To The Line Glider’ program.
Jon O’Shea, chairman at Haslers, said: “We are delighted to be supporting Roding Valley High School with its adoption of these new STEM activities.”
The company has a long history of supporting schools within the district to recognise and encourage youngsters to achieve high in a wide range of subjects.
Mr O’Shea added: “These skills are important to the local economy and there is a growing demand amongst employers for candidates with a background in STEM.
“By partnering with The Learning Partnership and Dendrite we hope to open up new opportunities to students with the goal of one day helping them into a sector that is STEM reliant.
