Gardeners, bakers and jam makers have been urged to get planting for a village show in September.

Loughton Horticultural show will feature categories such as vegetables, fruit, cut flowers and flower arrangements, jams, preserves, and chutneys, and cakes.

Children’s categories include baking, decorating biscuits, creating “a scarecrow suitable for a window box” and the funniest shaped fruit or vegetables.

There will be a chance to purchase plants and plant arrangements. The event will also feature prizes and The Town Mayor’s best allotment award.

Proceeds from the show will go towards will be donated to the Town Mayor’s charity, Epping Forest Foodbank. Donations will be accepted.

The event will take place on: Saturday, September 7 from 2pm to 4.30pm at the Murray Hall in Borders Lane, Loughton .

Admission is free and refreshments will be available. Awards will be presented at 4pm followed by the presentation of the Town Mayor’s Best Allotment Awards 2019.

Entry forms are available to download from www.loughton-tc.gov.uk or may be collected from the Town Council office or by calling 020 8508 4200. Entries must be submitted by 12 noon on Friday, September 6.
