Police are seeking a man wanted in connection to a violent hammer attack.

Satheesan Appu, 42, is wanted by Metropolitan Police following a “vicious domestic assault” in which the victim was beaten with a hammer and left with facial injuries.

Appu is also wanted by police on suspicion of threats to kill.

Police said he is known to frequent East Ham and Ilford but could be in the greater Newham or Redbridge area. It is also believed he may be sleeping rough.

Appu is described as Asian, 5ft 9in, with black hair and a moustache. Police said he may have shaved off his moustache to change his appearance.

PC Dave Whaley said: “My team and I are committed to finding Appu and bringing him into custody.

“The victim in this case remains very worried that Appu remains at large in London and we need the public’s help in order to locate and arrest him.”

Anyone with information is asked to call 999 and is urged not to approach Appu. You can also send information directly to David.Whaley@met.police.uk
