A secondary school’s business manager has been shortlisted for a national award.
Lisa Barker of West Hatch High School on High Road, Chigwell, is up for Business Manager of the Year in the TES Schools Awards 2019.
Headteacher Daniel Leonard said: "I am delighted that Mrs Barker has been shortlisted for this very prestigious award.
"She has made a real impact on the school over a number of years and being nominated in the first place shoes the high regard others have for the work she does."
TES editor Ann Mroz said: "It is wonderful to see such great ideas and excellent practice emerging from our schools and teachers, especially at a time when schools are under financial pressure.
"We had a record number of entries this year and the standard was very high, so all those shortlisted should be very proud. It’s an extraordinary achievement to be on this shortlist."
The winners will be revealed at a gala awards evening at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, London, on Friday, June 21.
