A school gave its pupils the chance to meet local employers – all while enjoying a full English breakfast.

The event took place last Thursday (May 9) at King Harold Academy in Waltham Abbey, and was intended to inspire the youngsters. The employers were also invited to tour the school.

Head of school Ian Tilbury said: "It was great to see so many employers inspiring our students about the world of work. Employer engagement is an absolute asset to schools. Our students thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast and learnt a huge amount from their experience."

The Broomstick Hall Road school, which opened in 1952, is a business and enterprise academy.

Head of Careers Jaci Hammond said: “We have had fantastic support from our local business community and our students enjoyed taking part in this exciting networking event.”

The school would like to thank Arriva, Barclays Bank, Careers Enterprise Company, Department for Work & Pensions, Hill, People for Places Leisure and YES Partnership for their involvement with the event.
