Bouncy castles and a return visit from a superhero are part of this year’s line up for the annual Waltham Abbey Fire Station’s open day.
The popular community event gives residents a chance to visit Station 73 on Sewardstone Road and even get a chance to see the engines up close.
Spiderman and his Black Widow chopper motorcycle will make a special appearance yet again including a Spiderman-themed bouncy castle for youngsters to enjoy.
A spokesperson for Essex County Fire and Rescue Service, said: “There’s lots of activities for children and a chance to learn about fire safety and recruitment to become a firefighter at the station.
“Lots of stations across Essex hold an open day every year and it’s a great opportunity for the firefighters to meet the local community and vice versa.
“The crews are really busy getting everything organised to make it the best it can be no matter weather.
A competition is also being held for visitors to "Name the Fire Engine" and even a have a go squirting water from the vehicles real fire hoses.
Waltham Abbey Fire Station’s open day will take place on Saturday, June 8 from 10am to 4pm.
