A daredevil duo managed to raise almost £4,000 for charity after completing a 14,000-foot sky dive.

Invest Essex’s and Ongar Business Centre’s office manager, Laura Smith, who and location services director, David Rooke, jumped alongside the Red Devils on Tuesday, May 21.

Two members of the business support provider company managed to exceed their £3,000 target for children’s charity, Kids Inspire, shortly before performing their tandem skydive.

Shortly after touching her feet back on the ground, Ms Smith, said: “The skydive was a truly unbelievable experience, which was made possible through all of our generous sponsors.

“Kids Inspire are an unbelievable charity - who the community of Essex couldn’t do without - so to be able to jump in their aid, alongside the Red Devils, was an honour to say the least.”

The fundraisers travelled up to Nottingham Parachute Centre where they also completed the adrenaline-fuelled task alongside their commercial partners, Vision Co-Working Spaces.

David Rooke said: “It was a fantastic and unique privilege to skydive with the world-famous Red Devils whilst raising much-needed funds for Kids Inspire, who do such fantastic work in supporting children and young people across Essex.

“The support we’ve received from the business community, our friends and relatives has been amazing”.

Kids Inspire supports children and young people recovering from traumatic experiences or dealing with emerging mental health difficulties within Essex.

The charity has seen an alarming 49% increase in the number of referrals over the past year.
