An outdoor table tennis table was officially unveiled by the Epping Town Mayor, Grahame Scruton, yesterday.
The facility, based outside Julie’s at Stonards café in the Stonards recreation ground, Epping, was described as a "great addition" by Mr Scruton.
The new instalment has been provided by Epping Town Council thanks to £2,000 from the Tesco Bags of Help scheme were shoppers choose which community cause to fundraise for.
Speaking at the ribbon-cutting ceremony, Mr Scruton said: "The outdoor table tennis table is part of the overall sports related improvements to Stonards Hill recreation ground which have been carried out by the town council.
"These have included the improvements to the football changing rooms, and the new café."
Bats and balls are available from the café, on payment of a returnable deposit.
Brand new exercise equipment is set to will be installed thanks to funding from the Big Lottery Awards for All in due course.
